Three Popular Foods In The Fast Lane
Nowadays, you seldom see people take their time leisurely walking down the street, enjoying their stride and perhaps, merrily greeting the other people they meet and come across with. Seems like a scene from a movie of long ago, right? Yes. This is because most people in this time and age are always on a hurry to get somewhere. You see them busily talking on their mobile phones while taking big steps to reach their offices on time to get to prepare for the important business meeting with a client. You will see men and women scrambling to get a ride on a cab, on a bus or on the next scheduled train. Busy, busy, busy!
And for lack of time, these hard working and active professionals, often find it hard to make time to prepare for food and there are even some who forget to eat. Yes, it is not a surprise for people to say that they have not eaten breakfast and are content enough to just drink a cup of coffee when they get to the office. Shocking but true! However, we all know that these hectic people are bound to eat sometime. And what are they eating? Here are a few food items that gets on the list of people who eat on the fast lane.
* Sandwiches. Yes, two slices of bread and some filling in between can be quite a meal for a lot of people these days. Sandwiches had been popular then and now and would continue to be as such because of their taste and their convenience. Sandwiches can actually carry most of the requirements in the food pyramid. Well, a little bit of each one at the least.
Let?s see. There is the bread as the carbohydrate, then you can add slices of ham or chicken. There are the green sprigs of lettuce and some slices of tomatoes and cucumber, add on slices of cheese and a bit of mayonnaise and ketchup on the side and you are set to go. What people love about sandwiches is that they are flexible, and can be made to conform according to the eater?s taste. And it is so easy to prepare, you just take in a piece of this and that, put them on top of one another and voila, you?ve got yourself a meal.
* Hamburgers and French fries. When one goes into a fast food store, the usual order is usually a set made up of these two. Hamburgers are more like sandwiches except that the meat in between is grilled and that might take a bit of time to make. Fries on the other hand are thin pieces of potatoes that are simply placed on a hot pan of oil and fried. Two easy things that can be made in 10 minutes tops. And if you are ordering one from a fast food store, you might get them in a matter of seconds. Talk about fast food.
* Hotdogs. If you do not know about hotdogs, then you might as well be from another planet. You see hotdogs being sold not only in the groceries, in fast food stores, but in stalls on the streets and in the park. You simply grill them and then they are ready to eat. People usually put them on a stick for more convenience. Add on a little mix of mayonnaise, ketchup or mustard, whichever you prefer, and you are good to go.
